The Aldworth Lodge Jubilee Award

The Jubilee Award seeks to acknowledge service to the community and is made annually in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Consecration of The Aldworth Lodge No 5191.

The award is split into two sections:

  • The School Section: The Headmaster of Reading Blue Coat School nominates a pupil of the School who has displayed outstanding service in a charitable related activity. The recipient is presented with a Silver Salver, a cheque for their chosen charity, and a personal gift at the annual Prize Giving.
  • The Senior Section: Members of The Aldworth Lodge propose individuals who are Old Blues, School Staff, or others closely connected with the School. The recipient receives an engraved silver salver (for retention of one year), a cheque in favour of their chosen charity, and a personal gift.

Qualifying Service

Qualifying service for the award could include:

  • Church work
  • Youth Club work
  • Work amongst the sick
  • Hospital or welfare service
  • Work amongst the aged
  • Charitable fund raising
  • Voluntary work in the UK or Overseas
  • Any other action deemed by the Committee to represent service for the benefit of mankind.
